Sonoma State Aquatic Center

Working in collaboration with the University’s Athletic Department, mode ASSOCIATES developed a conceptual program, site adjacency study, and three dimensional conceptual rendering.  The rendering is anticipated to act as the foundation for the Athletic Department’s efforts to fundraise for this important project.

The $27.5 million Aquatic Center Expansion project includes such features as a 50 meter x 25 yard competition pool, seating for over 1,000 spectators in bleacher and bermed seating, 23,000 square feet of space for new athletic offices for all athletic staff, athlete support spaces

(training rooms, locker/team rooms, academic support, etc.), and public

support spaces.  The project is anticipated to include such sustainable

features such as solar hot water and photovoltaics.  The design of the

complex is intended to blend with the picturesque natural surroundings of the campus and to compliment the design aesthetic of recently built

projects on the campus such as the Green Music Center and Recreation Center.
